Has your laser printer become so frustrating to use that you wish you could just turn back to clock to when you first got it? Sometimes it is best to know when to cut your losses and just step away. That is when you need to completely reset your multifunction printer, so it goes back to factory settings.
The most common reason for resetting office devices is when you are moving buildings. Your item may have been set to specific settings to accommodate the workspace you had. Now that you are in a different location, those settings may not always work ideally. Often times, it is best to reset the printer entirely. You should also do this when you plan on selling your device so that important information does not fall into someone else’s hands.
There is no going back from a factory reset. You will lose all data you put onto the device. In order to not start all the way from scratch, you should print a configuration report out beforehand. This will give you an idea of how to proceed when you try to get your device to optimal settings for the new location.
Plenty of instances necessitate a total printer reset. If you have any questions about this or other printer maintenance issues, direct them toward the proper IT professional.
